ORIENTAL JAZZ FUSION live

A unique artistic initiative offered by Riad YACOUT - an evening of live Oriental Jazz music. Adbou Mbacke (sax, wind instruments) – Fakhraddin Gafarov (tar, oud) and Jingo (guitar) are a group of musicians with different academic backgrounds and professional experience. The language presented is formed in the territory of sounds, built on the echoes of traditional popular and classical music of the Middle East, and enriched by the creative free spirit of jazz improvisation. 

Belly Dance
Every evening during dinner guests can enjoy a series of belly dances by professional dancers. Using an array of assorted props such as swords and sheaths, candelabras, fans, cymbals, veils and sticks, the dancers perform a scintillating, sensual show characterised by elegant gestures and rousing rhythms.

Aperitifs served from 6.30 p.m. to 10.00 p.m.
Savoury new tastes of tabulèe, cous cous and tajine, as well as traditional Moroccan sweets, accompanied by the customary Moroccan mint tea. On request, guests can also sample various dishes of the new Moroccan, fusion and Mediterranean cuisine.

ARABIC CAN CAN

A unique artistic initiative offered by Riad YACOUT.  The show is inspired by the romantic and rousing French Can Can combined with the classic tradition of Oriental dance. Set in a Bohemian atmosphere, a whirl of frilly skirts, lace and petticoats at an exhilarating pace.

Yacout Ensemble
The band performs live during dinner, entertaining the guests in an exploration of Maghrebian melodies and Salentinian rhythms, producing a unique and modern sound. The ancient Berber, Gnawa and Rai folk music varieties blend with the Pizzica and the Taranta, inspired by the Greek-Byzantine tradition, in a skilful mix of contemporary and electronic sounds. The CDs of the group Yacout Ensemble are available exclusively to guests of Riad Yacout.

Pizzica Salentina
An exquisite pair of dancers perform, with erect and decorous postures, in exhilarating pirouettes and leaps and elegant figures. The Pizzica Salentina, a typical folk dance of Salento, is reinterpreted with ethnic influences, while remaining true to the powerful and passionate spirit of the tradition.

Theatrical Belly Dance
During dinner guests can enjoy a series of theatrical belly dances by professional dancers performing a wide range of spectacular numbers, featuring swords and sheaths, sagat, cymbals, fans, Isis wings, seven veils and sticks, in a scintillating, sensual show characterised by elegant gestures and rousing rhythms.
 
 The Belly Dance or, in Arabic, ‘raqs al sharqi’ is a dance originating from the Middle East and Maghreb, as well as Algeria, Tunisia, Lebanon, Irak, Turkey, Morocco and Egypt. Considered to be one of the most ancient dances in the world, it is believed that the origin of this dance is related to fertility rites, associated both with religion and with esotericism and the worship of the Mother Goddess. The Belly Dance is pure poetry in movement and the exaltation of femininity. Athletic, sensual movements elegantly enhanced by skirts in delicate colours and impalpable fabrics and glittering, luxurious bodices.
